Malaybalay City the city in the forest, wherein you can find refuge a peace of mind, a place to enjoy the views and tourist spot. A lot of place where you can enjoy here in Malaybalay, One attraction you find in Malaybalay is the Capitol Ground located at Barangay 1 where the Kaamulan Festival celebrated. Kaamulan festival is to celebrate and represent the seven tribes which are the Bukidnon, Higaonon, Talaandig, Manobo, Matigsalug, Tigwahanon and Umayamnon. This place is also had a big ground where a lot of people get picnic and play, beside in the capitol we have there a playground, where your kids can play and roam around the playground.

            Second is the two trees. Two Trees Mountain is one place if you want an adventure, this place also located at Barangay 1 Malaybalay. This place shows the beauty of nature where you can witness the bright sun rise if arrived the top of two trees. In the top of two trees there are a little shelter where you can sit and relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. There a lot of trees that’s why the place is cold, also you can noticed the big rice field and the view of Malaybalay City.

            And the last but not the least the Malaybalay Folk Arts theater also located at Barangay 1, Where you can find the Bukidnon Zoological Forest and also the playground, best place to enjoy with your family, friends etc. there are also cottages and if you want you can try horseback riding. Those place are the spots that you can find here in Malaybalay.

AGYO FARM RESORT

     Agyo Farm Resort is a new center of attraction  in Malaybalay locatedat Kalasungay Malaybalay City. Also known as ”Bagani Farm Resort”A resort that best for family reunion, birthday party and you can aslo do overnight their with your family and friends. Bagani farm or agyo is the owner of my teacher in grade 4 sadly she passed away and now her son and daughter is now taking over it. Agyo farm resort has a very nice viewing you can see mountain like your in the middle of nowhere so peaceful and it is very relaxing the wind is so fresh, fresh as like youre in the middle of the forest.

       Agyo Farm Resort is like a village with no house the view is like the Two Trees in Malaybalay. It is so refreshing. Like you will remember your childhood days the trees is so old and big their cottage is so nice and strong because they use big size bamboo. And they have a cooking area where you can cook your dishes.

BFI

    Bukidnon Forest Incorporated (BFI) is situated at Sumpong, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. BFI is a long term plantation forestry/reforestation development project. Aside form it is a forest plantation, which is the main highlight, BFI is offers hiking. Good for those who are fun of it. You can get satisfaction from what the view can offer. It has a lot of trees, flowers and you can smell fresh air. BFI shows how does people out there lives especially in agriculture. You can experience and value how they've been through.

Bukidnon Forest Incorporated

Bukidnon Forest Incorporated (BFI), is located at Malaybalay City Bukidnon Province. This place is controlled and owned by the government based in Malaybalay City. Its primary project is a reforestation program covering a total area of 38,000 hectares in the province of Bukidnon.

BFI area was obviously unknown to many due to its placement but, offers magnificent view of open skies and distant mountain ranges . Offers a challenging uphill and downhill routes and a fresh air for those people who wanted to enjoy meditation.

Cool Place Warm People

            Malaybalay City, Bukidnon has several notable tourist destinations mainly the Kaamulan Grounds which is located at Barangay 1, Malaybalay City. Kaamulan Ground serves as an activity area, refuge and recollection, picnic and other outdoor activities and of course it is the constant venue for the celebration of Kaamulan Festival. The Folk Arts Theater, where some provincial activities and events are held, is also found here. Malaybalay is originally the home of the Bukidnon’s "lumad" or natives, but there has been an influx of settlers and immigrants from the Visayas and Luzon for the last four decades contributing to the growth of the population. The original inhabitants, the Bukidnons, have retreated to the hinterlands as the migrants continued to occupy and dominate the population centers in the city. Malaybalay City is the second most populous political subdivision in the province, after Valencia City.

           Bukidnon is home to 7 hill tribes namely the Bukidnon, Higaonon, Talaandig, Manobo, Matigsalug, Tigwahanon and Umayamnon. The Kaamulan Grounds is a nature park in Bukidnon and is home to many “tulugans” (sleeping places). You can also find the Folk Arts Theater and the Bukidnon Tourism Office at the Kaamulan Grounds. However, the main reason why a lot of locals and tourists like visit the Kaamulan Grounds Bukidnon is because it is the testament of Bukidnon’s rich culture and fascinating mix of tribes. At the Bukidnon Kaamulan Grounds, you can feel and appreciate not only the beauty of nature but of diversity and tradition as well. During the hot season starting from the month of February to April, you can witness the fascinating attraction of the flowering tree which called the Golden Trumpet tree. It is perfect for photo shoot background in any type of events and post it on your social media accounts, especially Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. 

          Folk Arts is one of the place in Malaybalay where people can relax and bond with their friends and family, because of the relaxing view and cold weather. Folk Arts is located at the Kaamulan Ground in Malaybalay City, the capital of Bukidnon. One of the tourist spots in Folk Arts is the Bukidnon Zoological Forest, where several different kind of animals are there such as: fish, lizard, boar, deer, lion, crocodile, snake, peacock, monkeys, tiger, and different species of birds. The zoo is open at 9AM to 5PM with an entrance fee of 20Php for adults and 5Php for children. The most attractive in folk arts is the “tulugan cottages” where the tourist can relax and rent the cottages, it is surrounded by the pine trees the reason why the climate is so cold.

        If your children want to enjoy and have fun there’s also a playground beside the Zoo, the playground where they can run and play. And if you feel hungry there is a restaurant there, where you can taste the Bukidnon’s special delicacies, teas and food that makes your taste a sense of satisfaction. Folk arts is the best place for picnic facilities that one can freely use and locate with its perfect relaxing view. It is perfect also for the love ones who need romantic place. It is a place where you can bond with your friends and family to have a quality time. In addition to be fully satisfied on your adventure, two trees mountain is always there waiting for you. It is a popular trekking destination especially for nature lover people. Especially when you start hiking at 5 o’clock in the morning you can witness the amazing view at the peak and when the sun’s start rising, the sea of clouds are so enjoying. Yet, it is difficult and challenging but of course the best view comes after the hardest climb right?

HOW TO GET THERE: Kaamulan Grounds & Folk Arts

When you're in Malaybalay City, you can just take a motorela (public utility tricycle) and ask the driver to take you to the Kaamulan Grounds - Folk Arts. It's well within city limits and just behind the Provincial Government buildings. The fare is just 7php going to the area and when going back to the highway, since only few public utility roaming the said area, you can just walk going up and take a motorela going to the main highway.

AGYO FARM RESORT

          Agyo Farm Resort is located at Kalasungay Malaybalay City. You would find it near at the Kalasungay Malaybalay City. The main entrance is at Kalasungay Zone 1. It is my first time to go there to have fun in the Agyo Farm Resort.. Before we go there we have to prepare food, extra T-shirt and a towel. I was so excited when we were about to go there because is it a very nice viewing and so relaxing. After passing through the Kalasungay National High School and end of the cement road the way is so rough but if you arrive thiere, if your so tired it will be paid of by the view in the Agyo Farm Resort. The way is so rough but any kind of vehicle will do. It is not so far if you will, it will only cost 10-25 minutes if you will walk but if you have a vehicle you will only take it 5 minutes.

         Bukidnon Forest Incorporated is measured at 10,000 hectare forest project in 30, 000 hectare upland management area. The was designed to introduce the concept and skills environmentally and economically sustainable plantation forestry, integrated into local communities. BFI has a lot of achievements not just here in Philippines but also internalional countries. In going for a hiking you only pay 10 pesos each and if you wanna spend more time you can have an overnight and rent for a tent for 200 pesos and you can witness sunrise at morning.

TRIVIA & FACTS

HOW TO GUIDE: Two Trees Malaybalay City, Bukidnon

1. From Fortich Street, also known as Sayre Highway, turn right to Rizal St. if you’re from Cagayan de Oro, and turn left if you are from Davao. Just go straight going to Bukidnon Capitol Ground.

2. Upon reaching Bukidnon Capitol Ground, turn right, just go straight and make a left turn, passing through old Bukidnon Provincial Hospital.

3. Once you reach an intersection near the Bukidnon Capitol Ground, turn right, towards Capitol Drive which heads directly to Malaybalay City Public Market and Terminal.

4. Midway through Capitol Drive, upon reaching the Dinlayan Boulevard, make a left turn going downhill, you will pass through Gawad Kalinga subdivision, just follow the road going straight, you will pass through a spillway over Kalawaig Creek.

5. Just follow the road, crossing the spillway, until you reach a narrow concrete road going uphill, just keep going uphill and always keep right following the trail, until you reach the start of the trail going up to Two Trees.

6. Midway through your hike, you will have a glimpse of Two Trees Peak, Malaybalay and Mt. Kitanglad as you steadily climb towards the peak.

7. Once you reach near the peak, turn right and you will see small trail going to the peak, just hike it for a few minutes, right ahead, you have reach the peak and the reason why it is named Two Trees.

8. At the peak you will have a 360 degree view of Malaybalay, Tigbawan ricefields of Barangay Can-ayan Malaybalay City, rolling hills and pine trees.
